Nadur Youngsters vs Xewkija Tigers
- Saviour Attard
Nadur Youngsters can go one point below league leaders Victoria Hotspurs if they manage to overcome a resurgent Xewkija Tigers side this Sunday. The prospect of challenging for the title once again has stimulated the players and all the squad is prepared for Sunday’s clash.
The whites returned to winning ways as they breezed past relegation threatened Kercem Ajax 6-1. It was a performance that re-ignited Nadur’s title hopes as it lifted them closer to Victoria Hotspurs and Għajnsielem. The three points proved of great importance as the Hotspurs stumbled to a 0-0 draw against city rivals S.K.V.W.
For the game against the Tigers , Nadur will be without central defender Peter Buttiġieġ .However ,veteran Paul Camilleri will return after a one-match ban. Xewkija will also have Josmar Vella suspended after conceding a fourth yellow card in his last game.
The players had a hard training session on Monday , concentrating mainly on the physical stamina with a lighter session on Tuesday. The team will train again tomorrow and on Friday where the coach, Mr. Geovann Bugeja, will choose the 18-strong squad for Sunday’s encounter.
An appeal goes to all our supporters to make their utmost to come for the match to give their support to our players for a much-needed win that will keep our aspirations alive.
