Nadur Youngsters are mourning the loss of one of its founder members, Horace Mercieca.   Horace was not only a founder member; he also gave the name (Youngsters) to the club.  Horace played for a good number of years with Nadur, as a goalkeeper and was a member of the first Championship winning side during the 1967-68 season.  His last direct involvement with the club was last June, when, during the re-opening of the refurbished bar area at the club, he recalled his memories of the Youngsters throughout the years.  He was also a very good example for the youths.  Mr. Mercieca coached the Youngsters team, and was also a coach with other clubs in Gozo.  Our deepest sympathy goes to his dear family and friends.
