Matchday 16 Nadur Youngsters - 1 vs Ghajnsielem FC - 4
- by Saviour Attard
Immediate reply
The Whites produced a decent first half where they played very good football and despite going one goal down through a header by Joseph Attard after 40 minutes they managed to equalize soon after. Just before the half time whistle, Paul Camilleri combined well with Anthony Portelli and his cross was headed by Cadu towards the same Portelli who leveled the score. However, the second half was a different story, as Ghajnsielem managed to score three goals in the space of practically ten minutes.
Second Half Downfall
The second period saw an attack-minded Nadur side who went out to obtain the advantage over the blacks. After barely ten minutes of play, De Souza had a goal disallowed for offside and few minutes after, Ghajnsielem’s goalie went out perfectly to block an effort by Portelli that was destined on goal. Despite the pressure by Nadur , the blacks manages to score again through Ferdinando Apap after 68 minutes. It was one-way traffic from that goal onwards as Ghajnsielem wrapped up the victory with two other goals from Thiago Dos Santos and Kenneth Mercieca.
